As a recognized specialist in torture and trauma services ASeTTS role is to support both individuals and organisations who work with communities from refugee backgrounds.ASeTTS offers high quality professional development across a diverse range of sectors for example teachers, social workers, health workers, GPs, counsellors and youth workers.ASeTTS training is suitable for all organisations from NGO’s, state and local government and the private sector. ASeTTS training programs are designed to equip workers with the awareness, knowledge and skills that will enable them to provide effective, culturally sensitive and quality services for people from refugee backgrounds, their families and communities.

We can deliver:

ASeTTS calendar modules include:

  • Orientation: The Refugee Experience ( a good pre-requisite introductory module)
  • Vicarious Trauma and Self Care Stratgeies for Workers
  • Community Development with Refugee Communities
  • Skills for Working with Young Refugees
  • Culturally Sensitive Counselling Approaches for Working with Refugees and with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and
